When using my computer I need a number of items to make it easier and somewhat pain free.  I find it difficult to use a standard mouse and develop pain within a few minutes of use.  However, the items below are minimal cost and really provide me the ability to complete tasks with minimal difficulties if used.

The ErgoBoard Pro Keyboard with USB Ports gives you the comfort of an ergonomically designed keyboard combined with built-in USB connectors to maximize desktop space. Belkin engineers designed a contoured shape using curves to replace the boxy lines of traditional keyboards. This naturally asymmetrical device with a split-key layout keeps your elbows and wrists at safe, comfortable angles to help reduce the risk of repetitive stress injuries.  I find the keyboard much easier to use than a standard keyboard as it doesn’t cause pain in my wrists.

3M Ergonomic mouse allows you to work easily and comfortably for hours by keeping the hand in a neutral position. It is much easier for me to operate the computer and conduct small movements such as computer aided drawing using this mouse.  The beneficial effect arises from a handshake orientation while mousing with the new mouse as opposed to a palm down posture with the traditional design. The muscle electrical activity was recorded for several forearm muscles while mousing with both the new and traditional designs. The new mouse was shown to significantly reduce the muscle effort required while mousing in addition to the more neutral posture. Consequently, the new mouse design was shown to be less fatiguing to use than was the traditional design.

Microsoft TrackBall Optical has the architecture that uses the new enhanced Microsoft IntelliEye patented technology and also all of the features that made the Microsoft IntelliMouse Explorer, such as the scrolling wheel and the two new customizable buttons. The TrackBall concept basis is to provide users with a fixed pointing device that they don’t need to move so they can save space on their desk. It’s really a relief for me as it makes the computer easy to operate and I tend to use the track ball on days when I am experiencing pain.

Was introduced to this pen by my hand therapist!  It’s a extra large pen that makes it easy to grip the pen and write with reasonable comfort.  Unfortunately my hand writing looks like a spider got drunk and fell into an ink well and ran across the page hiccupping!  But the pen does improve my hand writing somewhat.  I honestly recommend these pens to anyone what has difficulties writing as they are great.

I use this screw driver when having to undo screws and stuff.  I have some difficulties using normal screw drivers at times and this electric screw driver can be adjusted for either Straight or Pistol Grip operation. Provides forward and reverse control and is thumb controlled, which is very important for me.
